I love weddings. Weddings, weddings, weddings. This obsession started young, the dates on the wedding magazines in my room can prove that to you. The dress, the invitations, the flowers, the groom, the decorations, the venue, the rings, the happiness, the love, the joy. It's all too perfect. It's all too grand. It's all too wonderful.
Why love weddings? Well it's simple.
Yes, I am only 19 years of age. However, age is just a number. No, I
don’t love weddings because I’m in a committed relationship that has the
potential to lead to marriage. No, I don’t love weddings because I’ve
had to attend thousands of them (reality, I’ve been to just a few).
I love weddings. I love the love expressed. I love that for one day,
you can get a glimpse into the heart and the soul. That’s what a wedding
is. It is the outward expression of the emotions of the heart and soul.
For one day in a lifetime, those emotions, that were kept so personal
and guarded, are let open, flowing into another person that’s willing to
open themselves up to you also. Not only are they experiencing this
majestic display, but so is everyone that gets to share in the moment. A
wedding lasts a day, but a marriage lasts a lifetime; but that one day,
those couple hours, are one of the magnificent moments in a person’s
life. Those moments offer the most private glimpse into the heart and
soul. Those moments should be cherished. Those moments are special.
Those moments are a wedding.
So, haters are going to hate, but.. I love weddings.
P.S. I'm unofficially interning/shadowing a wedding planner this summer. Happy camper? Yes indeed.
P.P.S. Post coming soon about a wedding I attended with my boyfriend in March. :]
